Then He commaned the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave it to the multitudes.

Special Breakfast Popovers!

These were a big hit! And they were good too! We had friends over this weekend, so we wanted things to be special! And these, with cheese and fruit for breakfast did the trick! Oh, and coffee, OF COURSE!

Popovers
(we doubled this recipe and got about twenty two, I think)
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • Combine all ingredients; beat at low speed with an electric mixer just until smooth.
  • Place a WELL greased muffin pan in a 425 oven for three-four minutes or until a drop of water sizzles when dropped in it. Remove from oven; half fill with batter.
  • Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350, and bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Turn oven off. Peirce (poke) each popover with a butter knife to let the steam out. Return popovers to oven for 5 minutes to crisp!
  • YaY!!!!!!!!!!! All done!
And as you can tell in the photo, these is not just popovers! Well, I made them the night before and this morning we put them in the oven to warm a little. And, another little note, in the photo a lot of them are up-side-down because there was a whole in the bottom. So, after they had warmed up, I squirted whip cream in them ( note: the Whip Cream melted because they were warm, so, of you don't want your wc to melt, don't heat the po's up) and then we put confectioners sugar in a sifter and just beat the sifter over the popovers!

And whalla...

If you have any Q's I would love to try and answer them, but, I know probably you won't because anyone that looks at my blog has probably cooked WAY longer then I have!

Joyful Cooking and

Welcome to my new blog!

Thank you for dropping by! I started this blog so that I could share with everyone what I love to do: COOKING and so that I could share my favorite recipes and such! I hope that one day, Lord willing, I can be a wife, mom and stay at home, cook for my family and teach my children. Cooking is such a blessing! I am so full of joy every time I cook (almost haha) because when I look at the food that the Lord has given I am overwhelmed! We are so blessed to live in America where there is always food at our fingertips!

Thank you Lord, For always meeting our needs and for the fact that we have never known what it is like to really hunger. Please be with all those that do not have food and please, let their needs be met.
Amen.
